Exploring Winter Wonder: Student Improvisations

Welcome, music enthusiasts! Today, I'm thrilled to unveil a compilation of Winter Wonder improvisations crafted by my talented students. Inspired by the frosty magic of winter, these musical creations are as unique as snowflakes, each reflecting its composer's creative spirit and skill.

Harnessing the innovative Jumpstart resources created by the esteemed Leila Viss, my students embarked on a journey of musical exploration. With loose frameworks provided, they delved into improvisation, embracing new musical concepts, such as parallel fourths, the key of A minor, tonic and dominant, and motive and sequence.

In this month's compilation video, you'll witness the culmination of their efforts, showcasing their musical prowess and boundless creativity. Stay tuned for next month's installment, where we'll delve into lead sheets and left-hand improvisation featuring the timeless folk song "Love Somebody."

So, grab a cup of hot cocoa, cozy up by the fire, and join us on this musical journey through the Winter Wonderlands of our imagination. 🎶❄️
