Payment

Tuition is due on the first of each month. During the school year, parents must set up automatic payments for the recurring tuition invoices. Commitment is for an entire school year or from the time the student is enrolled until the following May. Late payments will incur a fee of $20 if not received by the 7th of the month. If tuition is not received by the 15th day of the month, lessons will be terminated and the spot filled with another student. All past-due accounts will receive a courtesy email and phone call before lesson termination occurs. Note about piano tuition: Tuition is paid in equal monthly payments regardless of how many individual lessons are in a month. It is not calculated as an hourly or per-lesson fee.

Adult Flexible

Tuition is due prior to the start of each lesson or at the time of purchase of a 4-lesson bundle. Student schedules their lessons through the studio's online scheduler on Calendly. Cancellation or Rescheduling: Any lesson that is canceled or rescheduled less than two hours from the scheduled start time will be forfeited. No refund or makeup lesson will be provided for such cancellations or rescheduling. No-Shows: In the event of a no-show (student does not attend the scheduled lesson without prior notice), the lesson will be forfeited, and no refund or makeup lesson will be given. Adult Flexible is only available to students age 18 and up.

Lesson Books & Music

Students will need to purchase books and/or music on occasion throughout the year. Every effort is made to keep costs minimal. Book purchasing is the parent’s or student’s responsibility. I will communicate as these needs arise and send links to the appropriate books. Some links may be affiliate links, meaning, at no cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Recitals

There are two recitals: a winter recital in December and a spring recital in May. All students are strongly encouraged to participate in the recitals. The recitals are included in the cost of tuition. Recitals may be virtual, in-person, or a combination.

Group Classes

Group classes are offered periodically at no cost for all currently enrolled students. Piano and voice students are all welcome to attend. A link for signing up is sent out approximately two weeks before a class.

Missed Lessons

Private and group students are expected to attend each scheduled week. Once registered for lessons, your time slot is reserved for you. No refunds will be given for missed lessons. Tuition is non-refundable and makeup lessons are not scheduled. Video or audio performances can be sent in and your teacher can send back evaluations and updated assignments. If your student needs to miss a lesson, please contact the studio with as much advance notice as possible.

There are two flex weeks factored into the monthly tuition for the academic year. The flex weeks cover if a teacher needs to cancel a lesson for any reason. Lessons will not be made up nor credited unless the flex weeks have already been used. If the flex weeks have been used, at the teacher's discretion, either a makeup lesson will be scheduled or a credit will be made on the next month's tuition. If the flex weeks are not used by May, they will be taken at the end of the year.

Cancellation

Students should plan to commit to lessons for the full year. If unforeseen circumstances require a student to terminate lessons mid-year, a written notice by email should be given as soon as possible. No refunds will be given for tuition already paid. The student is welcome and encouraged to finish up any lessons already paid for.

Parental Involvement

For students ages 5 to 6, an adult must sit in on every lesson or class to help the student as needed. For students aged 7 to 9, it is encouraged that an adult is close by, especially for the first few months of lessons, to help with any technical difficulties that may occur. Outside of lessons, parents are strongly encouraged to be active partners with their children during practice to help them succeed. Your child's teacher is available to help advise parents on how to best help their child with practice.
