Working at Lees Summit Piano is about much more than a paycheck. You will teach under the guidance of an experienced piano teacher and plan all your lessons together at a weekly coaching meeting. 

 

The ideal candidate will:

• Have at least five years of piano lessons or playing experience and can play at an intermediate or above level. 

• Genuinely enjoy working with children and be interested and invested in students’ learning process.

• Be able to commit to one evening of teaching in the beginning, from 3 pm to 7 pm or 4 pm to 8 pm, with the potential to expand these hours in the future. 

• Be responsible and punctual at all times.

• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

• Prefer a candidate who lives near Lees Summit, Missouri. Must have reliable transportation. 

• Have a suitable instrument (88 weighted or touch-sensitive keys and sustain pedal) and minimum technology, such as a laptop with a webcam, a separate over-piano webcam, and high-speed internet access.

 

We welcome students and new piano teachers of all ages and anyone looking to improve their teaching skills who meet these minimum requirements.

 

I have run my popular studio in Lees Summit for over eight years. I believe in meeting my students where they are and helping them achieve personalized goals through individualized lesson plans using different methods, supplemental programs, games, improvisation, and more. While I pivoted entirely online at the beginning of the pandemic, most of my students are still in the Lees Summit area. I have no plans to go back to weekly in-person lessons. My students and their families love the convenience and effectiveness of online lessons. I do offer in-person group classes and in-person recitals. 

 

If you join my team, you would be representing my studio. I want to ensure that every teacher on my team has the support and training they need to be successful and to help their students be successful. All teachers will have a weekly meeting with me where we can plan their lessons and discuss issues that come up for your students. 

 

You will have access to my extensive resources, games, and materials, as well as all your students’ books provided and access to the online assignment program. 

 

I will take care of the policies, the money, recruiting students, and all the business stuff so that you can focus on becoming a great teacher.
